Iraq Climate Change Center [IC3+] has participated in the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung “Just Cities” Conference in Amman during the period 28-30 October 2025, presenting “Baghdad @50°C: What Extreme Heat Means for People, Infrastructure, and Governance.” We shared pragmatic measures to protect lives and livelihoods, heat-health action plans and early warnings, cutting SLCPs and ending open burning, cooling the city with trees/blue-green corridors and reflective surfaces, boosting grid resilience for peak-heat days, and advancing water efficiency and reuse.
